Pretty much all airlines in Europe have adopted the low-cost business model. Not much luxury to expect from any of them. They are the biggest money maker in the Lufthansa group who dominate direct flights from and to this part of the world. Hence the premium prices. I hope they sent you a 'thanks you' note for your contribution.
